The library of ZheJiang WanLi University composes with
the library of QianHu campus and the library of HuiLong campus, with
the total area of 25000 sq.m. In recent years, the money spent on
purchasing literature is over 4000,000, and the number of the books
increases 100,000 every year. At present, the gross of the literature
that belongs to the library has reached to more than 900,000, and
over 2500 newspaper and magazines are ordered, including those in
Chinese and in foreign language. Besides, in order to meet the demand
of the teachers and the students to search the various information,
including the periodical thesis, the degree thesis, the conference
thesis, laws and regulations, patents and books, lots of databases
are applied in the campus networks. Based on the cooperation with
other libraries, the meet-rate to the information reaches to over
85%.
The library of the QianHu campus, located in the literature information
central building, was finished in 2002 and put into use in the same
year. With the area of 20,000 sq.m, the library has 16 reading rooms,
and can contain more than 3000 readers at the same time.
All the aspects of the library are operated by the computer, and what¡¯s
more, the aspect of circulation belongs to the range of the ONE CARD
of the university, which means that all the literatures of the library
can circulate freely between the two campuses.
The tenets of the library are Found on people, Serves and R0eaders
first, Serves give birth to persons, and all the staffs make the satisfaction
of the readers as the standard of their jobs. As the first university
of the country that explores the new style of the mechanism of running
school , ZheJiang WanLi University is in the way of probing into as
well as the library, and all the staffs hope that the reform of the
library will success in the future.
